About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Management professional to join our high performing and collaborative Project Management team in Brisbane as a Senior Project Director. As a leader within this division, you will bring over ten years of project experience to the division coupled with a fantastic attitude, enthusiasm to mentor and develop the team and an ability to win work in the Queensland market. This role will see you lead a range of complex projects across the residential, mixed-used, education and accommodation sectors. 

Key responsibilities will include.

  • Act as key member of the senior management team, participating in setting the project team's overall strategic direction and priorities whilst monitoring the performance of individual project team members
  • Play a pivotal role in the business development function for the team including nurturing and growing personal and professional networks, preparation of bids and fee proposals
  • Achieving target margins for your projects including managing your team within budget and have a sound knowledge of the financial aspects of the Division
  • Overseeing the selection and management of project team members on projects, assigning clear roles and responsibilities, providing effective supervision, and managing performance to ensure efficient operations
  • Provide expertise in multi-disciplined and multi-cultured projects through feasibility, developing briefs, managing stakeholders, implementing procurement protocols through to tender and award and the effective management of project teams
  • Directly managing all phases of a project to ensure that the client’s objectives are met
  • Deliver projects with high risks and fast paced environments
  • Prepare and monitor financial forecasts for the business, initiating corrective actions where required
  • Administer or oversee the administration of construction contracts 

What Sets You Apart 

  • Project delivery experience in major precincts, mixed-use developments, residential or accommodation projects (preferred but not essential)
  • Tertiary qualifications in a property or a construction related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years industry experience (preferably client-side)   
  • Successful track record developing new business
  • Demonstrated ability to grow business relationships and personal / professional profile in the industry
  • A person who thrives on being challenged, is proactive, self-motivated and looks to inspire others to follow suit.
  • Excellent Analytical Skills
  • Understanding and proven experience with a range of project delivery methodologies, in particular, Head Contract, ECI and Design and Construct or other hybrid models
  • Extensive experience managing and administering a range of Construction Contracts
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Excellent communication skills; written, listening and verbal
  • Be well presented and have a positive attitude
  • Experience of all stages of projects from planning through to handover
