Why This Role Matters

Our Asset Management team is going through an exciting phase of growth and transformation, and we are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Head of ESG to form part of our senior leadership team. The role will lead the development and execution of our Environmental, Social and Governance service delivery across our managed property portfolios with a focus on building out ESG capability across all major cities.  Location open to Sydney or Melbourne based professionals.

 

Reporting to the National Head - Asset Management, this newly created leadership role will be responsible for managing a national team delivering sustainability services, ratings submissions, reporting, energy management and building optimisation strategies to our clients across all asset classes. Working closely with State Directors, Property and Facilities Managers, investors and client representatives you will drive initiatives that enhance asset value, improve portfolio performance, mitigate risk and support long-term sustainability outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and deliver ESG services across the asset management client base, aligning sustainability objectives with business, client and investor priorities.
  • Drive asset and portfolio performance through initiatives focused on sustainability, climate resilience, operational efficiency and long-term value creation.
  • Partner with asset managers, clients and investors to embed ESG principles into investment, asset management and decision-making processes.
  • Oversee sustainability reporting, performance measurement and disclosures, ensuring accurate reporting against client, investor and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership on ESG governance, risk and compliance, monitoring emerging legislation, market trends and best practice.
  • Build ESG capability and industry leadership by driving awareness, innovation and continuous improvement across the business.
  • Deliver revenue growth by building out a market-leading team of experts across Australia

 

What You’ll Bring

  • 8-15 years' experience in ESG, sustainability, property, asset management, investment management, funds management or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing ESG strategies within a corporate, property or investment environment.
  • Strong understanding of ESG reporting frameworks, governance practices and sustainability principles.
  • Experience working with institutional investors, asset owners or large-scale property portfolios.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change across complex organisations.
  • Excellent commercial, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience preparing executive and board-level reports.

 

Highly Desirable

  • Experience within commercial real estate, property investment, funds management or infrastructure sectors.
  • Accreditations to support NABERS, Green Star, WELL, GRESB and other submissions.
  • Understanding of climate risk, decarbonisation pathways, responsible investment and sustainable finance.
  • Experience leading ESG data, reporting and performance management platforms.
  • Familiarity with emerging sustainability reporting requirements and market expectations.
  • A strong network within the institutional commercial property sector
