About the Opportunity
A unique opportunity exists for a full time Facilities Manager to join our team in a vibrant shopping centre environment. Working within the West City team, this role will allow you to showcase your existing skills and further develop your career with a great company. As the Facilities Manager, you will be a key member of the Centre Management team, the role will ensure compliance, cost-effective contract management, strategic planning, and successful execution of capital works and maintenance programs.
Key responsibilities will include;
- Supervise and monitor the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the property
- Oversee the performance and maintenance of all essential building systems including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fire services, HVAC, lighting, and security systems
- Liaise effectively with tenants, service contractors, consultants, and statutory authorities to coordinate services and minimise disruptions to trade
- Ensure compliance across all operations are compliant with relevant legislation, health and safety standards, Building Warrant of Fitness requirements, and company policies
- Monitor contractor performance and service delivery against agreed standards and benchmarks
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date reporting, documentation, registers and permits
- Assist with the coordination and management of tenancy fitouts
- Support the planning, budgeting, and delivery of operational and capital works projects
- Contribute to the environmental and sustainability performance of the centre
- Participate in emergency response planning and procedures, and be available to respond to property-related incidents out of hours if required
- Continuously seek ways to enhance the performance, efficiency, and value of the asset
What Sets You Apart
- 3–5 years’ experience in operations or facilities management within a retail or commercial property environment.
- Robust knowledge of building systems, services, and compliance obligations.
- Proven experience in managing service providers and contractor performance
- Demonstrated experience in budget preparation, financial reporting, and variance analysis
- Sound understanding of risk management, regulatory standards, and workplace health & safety
- Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary technical services teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clear reporting and stakeholder engagement
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office and building/facility management software systems
- Proven ability to implement business processes that deliver operational efficiencies and reduce risk
- Energetic, ambitious, hands on and motivated
