About the Opportunity

Due to business growth, a unique opportunity exists for a full time, highly experienced Property Accountant to join our growing success and lead the Property Accounting team in QLD as a Senior Property Accountant. Working from Savills Brisbane CBD office, this leadership role will see you responsible for providing Asset Management accounting services to clients while mentoring and developing a small team. This is an excellent opportunity to further advance your career within the Real Estate industry and make an immediate impact. 

Key responsibilities will include;

• Leading the Property Accounting team in Queensland
• Working closely with the Asset Management Directors in Queensland to grow the Asset Management business
• Ensuring trust account legislation requirements are being met
• Monthly Bank reconciliations
• Month end procedures including accruals and preparation of financial reports, budgeting and forecasting

What Sets You Apart 

• Previous experience in a senior Property Accounting position 
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
• Prior experience within a major shopping centre or in a real estate agency environment with a retail property focus preferred
• Proven track record in preparation of monthly accruals and end of month processes including variance commentary and forecasting
• Proven understanding of leases, retail terminology and retail turnover reporting used at a shopping centre
• Proven understanding of electricity on charging and tenant outgoings
• Experience in a leadership position, mentoring a team 
• Excellent time management skills
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Prior property and MRi or Yardi experience is essential
